This morning I did a guided meditation through my Insight Timer app. It was 8 minutes long and led by Naomi Goodlet. I really liked her voice…for me, it was strong, gentle, and soothing. Her focus was on our base chakra which is associated with the color red and feelings of safety and grounding. Located at the base of the spine it is thought to control physical and spiritual energy in our body…it “lays the foundation for expansion in your life.”
Also, we’ve gotten in the habit (I forget how many times doing something makes it a habit but today’s our fourth day in a row and eighth time this month) of doing 30 minutes of Qi Gong each morning. Qi Gong is an over-5-thousand-year-old Chinese health method that combines slow graceful movements and breathing to increase balance and vitality. Essentially, for me it’s a lot of stretches that feel good. I have a Lee Holden dvd and on it he’s leading us in these movements while standing on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The scenery is beautiful and the water and music are soothing.
Two more ways of grounding…and I think they’re working…I feel pretty good:)
