Last full day in Florence

Views from our terrace

Brad arrived yesterday afternoon. I expected him to be tired and needing sleep but he was alert and ready to soak in the charms of Florence!

We walked all around the city – by Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Repubblica, the Arno, Santa Croce Church, Piazza S.S. Annunziata, and landed at Piazza di San Lorenzo for a dinner of bruschetta, lasagna bolognese and cheese ravioli bolognese, wine, and two complementary apertivos.

Today we decided to go (for me, back) to San Miniato Church.

We took the bus there this time to give my feet a break. On the picture of it on the hill you can see its 11th century structure and 12th century facade.

Tonight we are having dinner at a restaurant my friend Frank said is the most authentic Florentine dining in the city. We had to go there over lunchtime to get 7:30 seats (as opposed to 9:00 ones.) Looking forward to that!

Tomorrow we head to Venice.
