Rome

Rome is bigger, busier, and maybe harsher than I remember but it’s still great to be here. The food has been fabulous. We had brunch at 11:00 when a Pavarotti-looking restaurant owner, Claudio, beckoned us to his outdoor seats and pretty much told us what we were having…bruschetta, homemade raviolis, spaghetti and meatballs and a bottle of red. He was quite a character, our entertainment I suppose. He sang Andrea Bocelli for us as well as Nessun Dorma and kept calling me Donatella and Brad, Sean Connery. The bill was more than we expected but we were tipsy and happy on our way to the St. Peter’s Basilica.

There is so much of Rome to share but I am getting ready to fly back tomorrow morning. Alitalia is folding on Thursday when I was planning to return and so I have to head back a day early. We got our Covid tests this morning and are both negative. I will leave you with a few pictures. It’s hard to pick just a few as Brad has taken at least a hundred!
