Hello and thanks for visiting my site.
It has held different purposes over the years.
I started it when I was closing my psychotherapy practice in Seattle so that clients could get in touch with me if they wanted/needed to.
Then I started posting Mindful and Meditation material I was learning and received positive feedback which spurred me to keep writing.
When I moved back to my hometown in Pennsylvania due to my mother’s failing health, I wrote about readjusting to life back in Amish country.
Then it became about starting a virtual psychotherapy practice during Covid and my goal to live in Italy. While I’m not yet living there, I did get in a couple of trips, the last one last year for two months. Now, while I still write about Italy, I’m also sharing thoughts and ideas on other things that interest me: Ideas, Beauty, Arts, Travel, Mental Health, Government and Politics, Spirituality, Inspirational Quotes and Personal Insights.
I hope what I share informs and inspires. Many times what I plan to write about morphs into something else. It’s almost always a satisfying process for me. I don’t have just one area of interest. I think it was Marianne Williamson who said rather than being a specialist, that she was a synthesizer. I guess that’s how I think of myself.
After 30 years of experience in the field of mental health and serving in many capacities with my MSW, LCSW, and LICSW – mostly as a Psychiatric Social Worker and a Psychotherapist, I find myself tapering down my direct services in the field and instead enjoying writing about the many insights and observations I’ve gained through the decades of working in the field of Mental Health. In addition, my thoughts stem from many years of “doing the work” meaning being in therapy myself, and working on strengthening my own mental health wellness. As I recently wrote in an article about The Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) -of which I am one -a positive of being in this category is that I have a rich internal world. I’m happy to be able to say that!

I am happy to hear of your thoughts, ideas, and feedback.
